We sorted all different kinds pictures today in different categories. We worked in teams and didn't always agree where the image should go, but we listened to each other's reasons and came to a decision. Lots and lots of oral language!!
We are learning Yoga in Renwick 1- Yoga for kids enhances flexibility, promotes strength and stamina, stability, and balance, reduce stress and help with relaxation while developing creativity and imagination and boosts confidence and self esteem. Yoga is non-competitive and there is no judgement about how a child does a pose or plays a game. We practised Yoga for 15 minutes on Wednesday and 15 mins on Friday, check out our poses! As a treat in Discovery Time today we had our faces painted!
"I'm a scary tiger!" said Marcus "Look at my orange mane, it's beautiful!" said Oscar "I am a beautiful butterfly" said Jade "I love being a penguin!" said Charlie "I want to be a blue and green scary cat!" said Angel "I'm a pink kitty cat! Rahhhhhh!" said Addi Cheeky Coit Golf!Using our sensational throwing skills we learnt from Bodie last week we were able to play a game of Coit Golf. We had to keep our feet glued to the floor when we were holding the coit, then threw it onto the yellow posts. It was a bit tricky as some of the yellow posts were hiding on and under the climbing frame!
"I threw it really far" says Angel "It took me 5 throws to get it on the post" said Toby "There was one really high up but I climbed up the ladder to get it!" said Oscar We have been learning the song "Dragons under my bed!"
Watch it at home if you want: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RbAZRr9FAA We made our very own dragons masks too. We made them using paper, cardboard, colour pencils, glue and scissors. Hope we don't scare you too much! Raaahhhhhh!!! Check out our discovery time today everybody!
"My favourite part was making my beautiful flower picture" said Lexi. "I liked dressing up like a crazy witch!" squealed Solly. "I blew a huge bubble and it blew all the way to the grass!" said Ebony We had such a successful week with our learning. Tory said we were very well behaved all day so we got special privilege time at the end of the day. We got to decide what we wanted to do for the twenty minutes and we ALL agreed that we wanted to see our big buddies.....so we got to play on the computers with our buddies helping us. Thank you big buddies! xoxox We had some quality time before lunch with out big buddies from Room 1. We choose the books we wanted and our buddies read to us.
"I love seeing my big buddy, he is kind" said Sylis. "My buddy read me stories about dinosaurs today" said Cassius. Today Bodie taught us how to balance coits on our heads and how to throw them just like the athletes at the Olympics! We had to throw them up in the air and see if we could catch them on our arms and feet! "It was so much fun!" said Solly "I caught it on my foot on my first go!" shrieked Awhi! Brodie and Cassius worked so hard on their creations using blocks so I promised we would show everyone on our blog! Well done boys!
